Now it is time for my favourite tasks!
Photos!
Open your photo folders and mark favourite photos of yourself.
I have usually created a separate folder for them. Rename the folder so, that you can find it quickly when needed. For selecting photos I’ll give you 15 minutes max. For smart and fast action think before you start scrolling, when did you or your friend take photos of yourself.
You don’t have photos of yourself? No problem - just take 5 photos now and choose 1-2-3 -> decided. Time is money and you can add better photoshopped photos later.
Some cool tips - include a portrait and a full-lenght photo of you.Specially some photos with celebrities and authorities in your business area.
Look closely - are there any weird shadows, unwanted people, things on your photo? Photos you put up online are your CV-s. Your boss and mum sees them. Are you proud of the photos or are they your next nightmare?
Introduction lines
Every platform wants data - who are you? If you write it down in one place, then it is fast and easy copy-pasting. So make a sheet with the description in what field are you from, what exactly are you doing.
This is the place where you can list your most relevant accomplishments. Best selling author, world champion of something…
If you have some cool slogans or lines - write them too. Let them be short and exciting.
Links
Today I think there are few grownups left, who don’t have any social media accounts. Log in to your existing accounts and copy your personal links on one sheet.
Where are the links?
Log in to your account and click on your profile. Now look at your web browser’s line. Copy that URL.
For example my Instagram’s URL is: https://www.instagram.com/kuik.cristiina/
If you have a webpage - copy this URL too to this list.
You don’t have any social media accounts?
I created a list that shows the most popular 30 social media platforms in 2026. But before you rush to make new accounts - let’s do some research.
Where do I need to have accounts?
It depends on the field your business is, what do you want to create or what do you want to do on social media platforms?
Just hanging with some new friends - choose platforms where you can send messages. I use Facebook’s messenger and WhatsApp -> Meta platforms (Facebook, Threads, Instagram, WhatsApp are all part of Meta), because it makes me easier to switch accounts and stay signed in.
For showing your work - google platforms. SoundCloud is for music, Vimeo and Youtube for video content…
“Don’t know yet” - choose 1 and let’s make it nice. Later you have some taste and know how and where to play with the content. 1-2-3-decided. Let’s move on.
Creating accounts
Every platform is the same and different. Just read, what it can offer for you and untick boxes you don’t want to share. Here is the same - you can change them later too.
Now take these sheets with your intro and links - copy-paste what’s necessary. And you’ll need those nice photos too for your profile picture.
Don’t forget to add the new account links to your sheet! You have a system - use it.
For passwords - it is your choice: do you write them down on a physical paper or add them in some kind of password manager. You’ll need passwords later too. I recommend you to use 2-step verification/ 2-factor authentication logins. Some platforms change your status verified and your content will be shared with much more people.
Nowadays every platform wants to sell you some cool unnecessary tools and kits and pro status. For beginning - you don’t need them. So don’t waste any money on that right now.
Changing and creating accounts/account data is better done on webpage than in app. App doesn’t show you all the features.
Congrats!
You just joined the hot world of social media!
